Britni + Justin

I've known Britni since 2007 when I got my first teaching job.  I had to invade her space during one class period since I didn't have my own classroom.  Throughout that year and since, I have learned that Britni is a passionate and most excellent teacher with the perfect English teacher sense of humor. I have so much respect for this lady for her dedication to her students and her profession.  And I'm jealous of the decor in her house. Then one day, I noticed she started posting pictures on social media of this Justin guy.  I knew right away that Britni had found someone special.  You see, Britni, as she says herself, already had a pretty good life - a great job that she loves, a new house full of custom made furniture, plenty of friends, and even a joy for running (I'm no runner, so I have even more respect for her!).  According to Britni, though, Justin made her life better.  What more could anyone want in a lifetime partner? Justin remembers the...

Bree: Class of 2017

This session was a hot one, let me tell you!  ;) Bree has an infectious laugh; she's so bright and bubbly.  But guess what?  There is so much more to this girl.  Mostly every time I've seen this young lady she is smiling.  Plus, I've seen her in crutches quite a few times, too, but that's beside the point.  Knowing Bree is to know laughter and happiness; yet, she has a calmness, a seriousness, that seems to transform her into an entirely different being.  I appreciate the depth of personality this young lady has.  She's complex, intriguing, and believe it or not, a little camera shy - at least until she gets used to the camera being in her face.   Luckily, I think I caught more than just a glimpse of how incredible this young lady is. Miss Bree, wear that #30 proud!  I know I did!  ;)  And enjoy this last year in high school, even if the girls that have already moved on to the next level broke your heart.  You'll be th...

B2S 2017

Isn't it hard to believe that the next school year is just a few weeks away?  As a kid, I remember the summer lasting seemingly forever.  Perhaps it was where I lived, in one of those tired old towns where nothing much ever happened, but summer was always hot, lazy, and long.  Those were the days!  Now, summer is a small pause from routine, from the hustle and bustle of the daily grind.   For this first young lady, the new school year is the beginning to an end.  Miss Katelyn will embark upon her last year in high school at a new school.  Although I didn't have Katelyn in class, I did see her frequently in the halls.  Her personality shines and will certainly attract plenty of new friends.  Good luck to this fun girl!  Enjoy every minute!  But don't forget, once a bulldog, always a bulldog!  Next up is my sweet girl.  Folks, this is a big year.  Kindergarten!  Although it's har...

Taylor: Class of 2017

Unfortunately for me, I don't know Taylor that well.  I remember her as a little girl, but because of my career change, I did not get to have this young lady in class last year.  Apparently, I missed out on a good one.  Taylor loves to read, and she brought with her some of my favorite classic authors:  Austen and the Bronte sisters.  I like this girl!   Taylor was super easy-going throughout our session, even though it started out pretty rough!  Folks, know your gate codes!  While we didn't have sunlight for our evening session, the clouds overhead gave us great lighting on their own and provided us with enough shade so that we didn't sweat to death.  Though, we were attacked by a multitude of creepy crawlies.  Oh, and we almost got a guest deer in some shots, but I suppose he didn't like my angle.   Overall, our time was well-spent.  I've had a most difficult time choosing which photos to add to this post.  Taylor h...
