It's been awhile...Brody's back!

Hey, folks.  So it's been some time since I've posted an update here.  For those of you who follow me on social media, you know I've still been taking a few photos here and there.  Although, starting my new job caused me to slow down.  Way down.  I wanted to make sure I could handle that load plus this pastime.  What I've learned from this small hiatus is that I really do love taking photos.  More than taking photos, I love the final product and the reactions that it receives from the subjects, my friends, or even complete strangers.  Now, I'm back at it and working on expanding just a little.  More on that later... For now, I got to hang out with a complete and total ham:  Brody Bear!  This little guy is celebrating, of course, Christmas, but also his second birthday, which is just around the corner.  I just can't believe it's been almost two years since I first photographed this kid, my very first newborn session.  He ...

Happy birthday, Brody!

Wow.  One year has passed so quickly!  I have had the honor of getting to watch Brody grow into this complete ham of a toddler.  During his first session, which coincidentally was my first newborn session, I knew by looking in his eyes that he would be a happy boy.  Over the next couple of sessions, getting a smile took some work, but he always came through.  Now, at one year old, this little guy still has shown me how much he has accomplished in such a short amount of time, and his smile and giggle are completely infectious! I want to give a big thanks to Lauren and Daniel for allowing me to capture Brody's first year.  It has truly been my pleasure! They are such great parents, and I know with their faith and determination, Brody will continue to make remarkable progress.  I look forward to photographing that sweet smile again!  I wanted to save this sneak peak until closer to his big day, so please join me in wishing this amazing littl...

Brody at 9 Months

This little guy has been growing!  Our session was so much fun, and Brody was his typical, adorable self.  I noticed he is making many more noises now, and he especially likes to give love to his momma and daddy.  What a sweetie pie!  Now, we'll have to start planning for the -BIG- photo shoot to celebrate his first birthday.  My goodness, how time flies!  I've so enjoyed watching Brody grow.   We scheduled our photo session at a new place in town:  The Laurels Pumpkin Barn.  This place is truly magical, especially at night with twinkling lights glowing through small openings in the barn.  The family owned business is a labor of love as they have completely renovated their old barn into a family-friendly location where you can have a great afternoon of choosing just the right pumpkin.  They have plenty of pumpkins, too, by the way.  In fact, they have over 40 different varieties beautifully displayed to make choosing just one...

Six Month Old Super Hero: Brody

I know I have something good when the first uploaded image I look at makes me say, "Oh, my!" out loud.  Well, I kept saying that as I sorted through Brody's files from this morning.  Talk about a special little guy!  Those rolls!  Those eyes!  He can make just about anyone melt.  Then, there is his story.  Momma Lauren mentioned that she and her husband Daniel had thought about skipping pictures for this six month milestone since Brody had just had his surgery not too long ago.  However, she realized that his scar was a big part of who he is, and that scar helps to explain the incredible journey he and the rest of his family have been on since before his birth.  Many years down the road, I hope Lauren, Daniel, and Brody can look back at these photos with a smile knowing how far they've traveled.  And for Lauren and Daniel, I'm sure they won't even see the scar.  They'll see that sweet six month old boy and wonder how he was ever tha...

Mr. Brody

What a special little guy!  This was my very first newborn shoot, and I'm super proud of the results.  To make things much easier on me, I was blessed with the most handsome little model around!  Brody was so sweet and pleasant during our session; plus, he had the new baby smell!  Ahhh!  Since doing this session, I've learned a few things to make my work better, but overall, I am very pleased with the shots.    I hope you enjoy!  Here's Mr. Brody…
