Malone

The bad part about this photo session is the reminder of how old I'm getting.  I've known this young man since the days of Maloney Baloney and even before then, which doesn't say much to some, but to me, it screams of the MANY years that have gone by.  To be able to watch a child grow into an adult is remarkable, and I've had the unique opportunity to watch this guy turn into a charismatic, witty young man.  I know his mother and father are very proud of the man he is becoming.  :) I've witnessed Malone being a sneaky instigator, a prankster, a protective big brother, a supportive teammate, a resourceful student, and a leader among his peers.  Also, I didn't realize just how funny he is until I had him in my class.  Ultimately, I'm lucky to have had the opportunity to see Malone's transformation over the years, to learn who he really is and what he is capable of.  And while most other seniors are excited about getting the next phase of their lives...

Kaylyn

Miss Kaylyn is a super sweet, quiet girl.  Or at least I thought she was quiet!  During our session, we got to know each other a little better, and I found out that Kaylyn is expressive and strong-willed.  Instead of being what some might call shy, Kaylyn is observant - an excellent quality to have!  This is a perfect example of why I love to do these sessions.  I get a glimpse of a different side of these young ladies and gentlemen, and perhaps I learn more about them in a hour session than I learn about them in an entire semester.  Funny how that happens.  I'm sure they learn plenty about me, too!   Kaylyn is co-editor of the yearbook this year and a member of my sponsored club, the National Honor Society.  As an English student, she is a terribly clever writer with a natural voice that is not always typical of a high school student.  Her maturity and intelligence make her stand out as an insightful, top-notch student. ...

Football, Cars, & Fish

Being at Dillon's house reminded me so much of my Dad's place.  Everywhere I looked, I found something interesting and different that I don't see just anywhere.  From the unique barn to the old cars, we had plenty of opportunities to take unique photos that are personal to Dillon.  I hope one day he can look back at these photos and really appreciate where he comes from. I remember spending plenty of time just up the hill from where he lives.  Ah, childhood!  What memories tired old towns can give a kid!   I had not realized just how much Dillon had changed since being in high school until a mutual friend posted a photo on a social networking site.  This kid has definitely transformed in just a few short years!  Knowing how smart he is and how he enjoys a challenge or project, I know Dillon will continue to transform into an incredible young man.   Good luck to Dillon this year, both in school and on the football field.  I look ...

Beth & Brent

Most times men don't care much to have their picture taken.  Brent, however, was the most participatory male subject I've seen!  He was so relaxed with his "go with the flow" attitude that his bride-to-be began to become less nervous.  You can tell by watching these two that they have a perfectly balanced relationship.  That's what it's all about: balance.  Good thing they already seem to have this element figured out!  And…just how amazing is Beth going to look on her wedding day?!  She is stunning already, so be ready, Brent!  I suspect a few tears will be shed during that first look!  I wish the best for these two on their upcoming wedding and marriage!  I'm sure everything will be wonderfully beautiful and simply perfect!   Congratulations, Beth & Brent!  This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License .

Back to School!

Here's to a great start to the new school year!  Congratulations to Talon on his first day of Kindergarten!  I hope he learns plenty, has fun, and makes new friends.  Welcome back, kiddos!  :)

Kim

I had fun with Kim, her boyfriend Garrett, and the rest of her family at this session!  We visited her family's barn and horses.  I'm not one to be around large livestock that much, but that didn't stop Kim's grandfather from trying to persuade me to hop on.  I escaped without having to burden a poor horse, yet Kim showed me how it was done.  She hopped right up in the saddle!  It is pretty cool to see someone so comfortable with such a large, powerful animal. Kim is a quiet, reserved young lady.  While she was in my class, I hardly ever heard her voice!  However, she is very intelligent and creative.  I hope I get to know her even better this school year. Good luck to Kim this year! This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License .

Rebecca: A Girl & Her Dog

This sweet girl decided to bring her dog Ashley along to our session.  Ashley is a sweetheart, and she loves her momma!  When Rebecca and I were shooting away from Ashley, she whined and whined wanting Rebecca to come back.  It was pretty cute!  Rebecca is a creative young lady.  She has crocheted pieces for me, and all she needs is a picture!  Look her up on Facebook at Tig Isi Missy .  She can do anything, so if you have something specific in mind, just ask!  Support a teenager trying to run her own business.  How amazing is that?! Coincidentally, Rebecca is friends with Tashina and Heaven.  Take a look at their sessions if you haven't already!  This group of young ladies can't hide in the hallway because they are too busy laughing.  It's funny, really, but it's also a reminder of how great friendship really is.  I hope these girls and the rest of their buddies continue to brighten my day when I see them in the hallway...
